'에밀리아 페레즈' 비영어권 영화 사상 최다 후보

'브루털리스트' '위키드' 10개 ...3월 2일 오스카 시상식 

 

에밀리아 페레즈

 

성전환 이야기를 담은 스페인어 뮤지컬 '에밀리아 페레즈(Emilia Pérez)'가 제 97회 아카데미상 작품상 등 13개 후보에 올랐다. 오스카 역사상 비영화권 영화로는 '와호장룡'과 '로마'(10개 부문)을 앞지르는 최다 지명으로 기록됐다. 프랑스-멕시코 합작 자크 오디아르 감독의 '에밀리아 페레즈는 지난해 칸영화제에서 심사위원상과 여우주연상을 수상했다. 

 

유대인 건축가 이야기를 그린 '브루털리스트(The Brutalist)'와 브로드웨이 블록버스터 뮤지컬을 스크린에 옮긴 '위키드(Wicked)'는 10개 부문 후보에 지명됐다. 작품상 후보에는 칸 황금종려상 수상작 '아노라(Anora)', '브루털리스트', 밥 딜런 전기영화 '완전한 무명(A Complete Unknow)', 바티칸의 음모를 그린 콘클레이브(Conclave), SF영화 '듄 2(Dune:Part Two)' '에밀리아 페레즈', 브라질 영화 '아임 스틸 히어(I'm Still Here)', 혁신적인 카메라 기법이 돋보인 인종차별 소재 영화 '니켈 보이즈(Nickel Boys)', 데미 무어 주연 '약물/섭스턴스(The Sunstance)', 그리고 '위키드'가 경합한다.  

 

올 오스카 후보는 1월 17일 발표될 예정이었으나 LA 지역 산불로 인해 두차례 연기된 후 23일 발표됐다. 이번 산불로 최소 28명이 사망하고, 1만4천채 이상의 건물이 파괴됐고, 약 4만 에이커가 불에 탔다. 아카데미 측은 산불 구화 활동에 1백만 달러를 기부했다. 2월 10일 오스카 후보 오찬에 사용할 예정이었던 25만 달러를 기부금에 포함했다. 

 

코미디언 코난 오브라이언이 사회를 맡을 제97회 아카데미 시상식은 3월 2일 오후 7시 오베이션 할리우드의 돌비시어터에서 열리며, ABC-TV와 Hulu에서 방영된다.
